Second straight podium for Bergkvist

This weekend, the second race in the Junior World Rally Championship was run on the French island of Corsica. Emil Bergkvist and his co-driver Ola Fløene ended the rally with a third place, their second straight podium in this year's championship.

– We are happy with our rally. It's incredibly high competition in this series, and the others where really fast this weekend, says Emil.

In the last rally in Sweden, Emil had trouble adapting to the new car, the Ford Fiesta R2T. But to the French round, he and his co-driver Ola had prepared better, and also managed to get the right feeling for the car.

– It has been a very challenging competition with extremely long stages, and we had some problems initially to find the right feeling in the car. But yesterday we got some tips and it helped a lot, so we're pleased with how the driving worked at the end.

After two podiums in two rallies, it looks good at the championship of Emil and Ola.

– We are getting good points from this weekend, and it will be important at the end of this long championship. Everyone here is incredibly fast, and it's about finishing every rally throughout the season if you want to win, Emil continues.

In a few weeks, the championship will continue with this year's first gravel event in Portugal, a rally Emil has run the last two years.

– Certainly, it's an advantage that we were there before, but we should not underestimate the others. We know that Dennis (Rådström) and several others are good at gravel. We are going to be as well prepared as possible, and then we see how far it gets us, concludes Emil.
